The DRC signs with Qatar training agreements in civil aviation, modernization and development of its airport infrastructure
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Qatar signed on Monday 29 March, important cooperation agreements for the strengthening of technical capacities in civil aviation, financing and construction of 3 airports.
These agreements, which occurred during the visit of DRC President Félix-Tshisekedi to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Ben Hamad, at the Amiri Diwan Princely Palace in Doha, will enable the country to train and/or strengthen the technical capacities of various civil aviation officers of the DRC, in the area of safety and security supervision.
The Régie des voies aériennes (RVA), which is the air transport authority of the country, will benefit through these agreements from the expertise of one of the largest airlines in the world, Qatar Airways, which will support it in the modernization, the construction and financing of the three Ndjili airports in Kinshasa, Luano in Lubumbashi and Ndolo in Kinshasa for business aviation.
After this visit to the Princely Palace Amiri Diwan in Doha, the twitter account of the Presidency of the Democratic Republic of Congo, announced that on Tuesday 30 March: “The Head of State, Félix-Tshisekedi, visited the airport facilities in Doha in order to immerse himself in the management methods and technics in this area with a view to transferring competence to improve the quality of airport management in the DRC…. At Hamad International Airport, President Tshisekedi visited the terminals, air cargo management, flow control and security facilities.”
