Ethiopian Airlines: Resumption of direct flights between Abidjan and New York in May
After the suspension of its direct flights linking Abidjan’s Félix Houphouët-Boigny and New York’s John F. Kennedy airports in March 2020, in the early hours of COVID-19, Africa’s largest airline, announces a return of these direct Abidjan and New York routes starting next May 29.
“We are excited to bring back our direct flight between Abidjan and New York. We have long been offering flights with the best connectivity between the US and Africa. The resumption of our Abidjan–New York flight brings back the flexibility that our passengers love. We have been increasing frequencies and adding new destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia in the past couple of months and we are delighted that the Abidjan–New York route is coming again.” said Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew.
The schedule provides for 4 weekly flights; Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday between Addis Ababa and New York via Abidjan.
From May 16, 2023, Ethiopian will also start offering a new passenger service to Atlanta, USA. This new destination will join Ethiopian Airlines’ five other destinations in the United States, namely New York, Newark, Chicago, Washington DC and Miami for cargo service.
