It was with an inaugural flight from Ouagadougou to Bobo-Dioulasso on Thursday, April 27, 2023, that the Burkinabe businessman Mahamadou Bonkoungou, president of the EBOMAF group (Entreprise Bonkoungou Mahamadou et Fils), launched the activities of his new airline “Liz Aviation SA”.

Already present in business aviation with the rental of private jets, Mahamadou Bonkoungou aims with this new company three major objectives:

the establishment and development of regular services between the country’s cities,
to make available safe and efficient regular routes between Burkina Faso and other countries in the sub-region, and finally
revitalize the air sector in Burkina Faso to make it an economic sector of development and business creation.
“In a landlocked country like Burkina Faso, any new company that operates on its airport platforms contributes to a decisive advance in the development of air transport. And this, in terms of increasing the practice of better communities and opening up by the possibilities of opening the national sky, “said the Director General of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), Dr. Thomas Hyacinthe Compaore.

For the Minister of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety, Roland Somda: “This travel offer, which is in addition to that of the national airline Air Burkina, will undoubtedly boost the volume of trade between the economic capital and Ouagadougou, combining speed and security. We must therefore work to ensure that the plane is no longer seen as a luxury, but rather as a development tool that saves time and money.

For the time being, “Liz Aviation SA” offers the possibility of connecting Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso in less than an hour, 7 days a week, and from next May onwards, Lomé-Niamtougou-Ouaga and Lomé-Ouaga-Lomé every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
